Al-Ittihad Genoa
Genoa have completed the signing of defender Mario Mitaj on loan from Al-Ittihad, with an option to buy for a total fee of โฌ6.5 million. The agreement includes an upfront payment of โฌ2 million for the season-long loan, with an additional โฌ4.5 million required to make the transfer permanent in June 2026. Mitaj, who is set to celebrate his 23rd birthday next week, expressed his excitement about joining Genoa and playing in Serie A. He has already undergone medical tests and will wear the Number 2 jersey for the Grifone this season. Despite interest from other clubs like Roma and his former team AEK Athens, Genoa successfully secured his signature, adding a talented player with 32 international caps for Albania to their squad.
